where is the first pathway taken? It is lovely...
I think I was standind on it when I took the sixth picture.
I think it is called the Botterill Bottom Park. I remember thinking I was trespassing on the Police firing range when I took it. So it was somewhere around there by some sort of flood prevention hatch system. You have to walk over it on the path going South of the Indian Battle Park.
If you look at the 7th picture from the last I added one showing me actually standing on the path. It is hard to exactly explain where it is... but it's there.
Where did you take the photo of the beautiful bull snake?
I always thought it was a baby rattlesnake but I think you are right about it being a bull snake.
I actually took that one in Medicine Hat in the Ross Creek Nature Reserve. It was right on the walking path and many people were a little freaked out by it because it was a little aggresive when anyone got close.
cool...have you ever thought about having an art show - with your snaps and some text? not your blog chronicles - but maybe inspired by those chronicles - the dichotomy between the serenity of your snaps and the often horror of your experiences
I have never thought about any sort of art show whatsoever but that could be interesting. I do not consider myself an artist in any way, shape, or form.
I had to look up what dichotomy means and I think that is very much correct in the way that I feel. I often look for serenity in nature to offset (or counter) my craving for crazy shit, for lack of a better term (even though there are many).
Definitely a bull snake. They can act very aggressive and with their size they can imitate. But they also usually calm down in captivity. Beautiful shot.
Gorgeous shots, beautiful snake. I'd love to see more of your photography up on here when you get a chance. It does seem that you haven't been active at all since late April, but I'm hoping you'll return soon!
